Beep! is a musical collective comprised of pianist Michael Coleman, bassist Nate Brenner and drummer Sam Ospovat. Their music is based on the concepts of group interplay, free improvisation, original composition and orchestration in a piano trio setting. Though rooted in the jazz piano trio tradition of Bill Evans and Paul Bley, Beep! is influenced by a wide range of styles. From modern pop rock to Romantic-era composers to American folk music, Beep! borrows and reinvents with humor, energy and a focus on spontaneity.

“Beep!, is an exciting and dynamic group that is well-versed in the Jazz tradition, with a style that makes classic Jazz fresh.”
-Chris Siebert, Musical Director for Lavay Smith

Beep!'s debut album, "Short Stories" was released in 2007 to critical acclaim. C. Nathan Coyle of Rambles.net wrote, "Beep! offers a dynamic, vibrant sound...the exclamation mark in their name is definitely appropriate."

As Individuals, Beep!'s members all take part in the vibrant music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area. Besides being an in-demand sideman, Michael plays keyboard and sings in the Berkeley-based pop band The Attachments and composes music for local dance companies and film makers. Nate is involved in several rock projects including Light House and Amos Payne and plays in Blenderhead and The Rhumba Bums. Sam plays drums in Kids and Hearts, The Ton Trio and Gene Baker's R and B Free Jazz Gospel Supreme 80.

Beep! plays regularly throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and in Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles. They will soon be touring Asia and Europe and will release their second album in Fall 2008.
